A below-wholesale fragrance-oil retailer, built for volume and trust
A 1,000+ SKU catalogue for a New York DTC and wholesale brand, structured around fast browsing, sample-first buying, and a dedicated wholesale funnel.
View conceptEvery fragrance website is solving the same problem underneath whatever it looks like: the buyer cannot smell the product through a screen, and the page has to substitute for that with enough specificity to close the sale anyway. This is the one category we've designed for repeatedly and from genuinely different positions, below-wholesale volume, ultra-luxury oud, minimalist two-SKU, Gen-Z discovery, session-based experience, which is a different qualification than having designed one nice fragrance site once.
Scent notes, longevity, projection and how a fragrance actually wears over a day are the information a physical counter gives for free and a website has to build deliberately. That means comparison language a buyer already uses ("similar to X, but warmer"), sampling or discovery-set programmes that de-risk a first purchase, and photography specific enough to feel like evidence of the actual bottle rather than stock imagery of a generic one.
Get this wrong and the site looks fine and still underperforms, because the page never answered the one question every fragrance buyer is actually asking before they pay.
A below-wholesale DTC oils retailer, an AED 999–2,999 ultra-luxury oud house and a $29–65 Gen-Z discovery brand are nominally in the same category and need almost nothing in common on the page: different price anchoring, different proof, different checkout expectations, different volume of SKUs to browse. Treating "fragrance site" as one template is how a brand ends up with a page built for someone else's customer.
We start from your specific position in the category rather than a fragrance-site template, because the position is what actually determines the page.
For a large share of fragrance brands, wholesale enquiries and sample-first purchasing carry as much volume as full-size retail, and they're commonly bolted on as an afterthought. A contact form nobody checks, or a sample SKU treated identically to a full bottle in the cart. We build these as first-class paths from the start where your business actually needs them, not as a form wedged into a template that assumed single-item retail.
Seven, at the time of writing. Self-initiated concept builds, each aimed at a genuinely different position in the category rather than the same template with a new logo. They're linked below. None are paid client engagements; each is a real, live build.
It follows catalogue size and content needs, not a default. Shopify suits most retail-volume catalogues. Webflow suits a brand-led site built around story rather than a large SKU count. Custom Next.js suits a large catalogue or specific performance and content requirements neither of the others can meet natively.
As a distinct purchase flow rather than a smaller version of the full-size cart: sample sets are usually a different decision for the buyer (try before committing) and deserve their own page logic, bundling rules and follow-up rather than being treated identically to a full bottle.
Yes. The underlying discipline (substituting for what a screen can't convey, matching the page to your actual customer) applies to any considered-purchase category. Fragrance is simply where this studio's concept portfolio happens to sit.
